Recipe - Homemade Salted Caramel
INGREDIENTS:
200g brown sugar / caster sugar
90g butter, cut into cube
130g heavy cream / whipping cream
1 tsp sea salt
METHOD:
- In a saucepan, heat the sugar over medium heat. Stirring constantly with the silicon or wooden spatula until melt.
- Once the sugar is melted, add in butter and stir until the butter melt. You may change the spatula to whisk if the butter is separating from the caramel.
- Slowly pour in the heavy cream and whisk until the cream is well incorporated. Let it boil for a minute.
- Remove from the heat and add 1 tsp of sea salt and stir well.
- Let the caramel cool for 10 to 15 minutes before pouring into the jar. Cover the jar tightly and store in the fridge up to a month.
Note:
Please pay attention and don’t walk away when cooking the caramel to prevent burn.
